Starting my day with a healthy keto diet is a top priority for me. I can’t afford to eat anything that could potentially jeopardize my commitment to achieving my weight loss goals. I was shocked and disappointed to find out that peanut butter is not suitable for my keto diet. As much as I love this spread, it’s loaded with carbohydrates which can potentially kick me out of ketosis. I never thought that this seemingly innocent spread could be so damaging to my health and fitness. It’s time to say goodbye to my go-to peanut butter! Another keto diet food that I thought was safe to eat is boiled peanuts. Unfortunately, it’s not. Even though peanuts are a great source of healthy fats, boiled peanuts are loaded with carbohydrates. In fact, a single cup of boiled peanuts contains 15g of carbs which is more than half of the daily carb allowance for my keto diet. That’s a lot! All hope isn’t lost though. It’s important to note that there are many other keto-friendly foods that I can enjoy. For instance, I can always substitute peanut butter with other nut butters such as almond butter or cashew butter. These nut butters are lower in carbohydrates and can easily fit into my calorie and carb budget. Additionally, there are plenty of other nuts and seeds that I can add to my diet. For example, macadamia nuts, Brazil nuts, chia seeds, and flaxseeds are all great sources of healthy fats and essential nutrients. I can snack on these foods throughout the day and they’ll keep me full and satisfied while contributing to my weight loss goals. In conclusion, being on a keto diet doesn’t mean that I have to miss out on delicious foods. I just have to be careful and mindful of what I eat. Peanut butter and boiled peanuts may be off the table, but there are still plenty of keto-friendly foods to choose from so I don’t have to feel deprived. Plus, by sticking to my keto diet, I know that I’m giving my body the best chance to be healthy and in shape.
